Other News and Notes

LIT Faculty Meeting - Our LIT Faculty Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 10/13. We will be discussing our upcoming accreditation site visit. As we have said before, the site visit is simply a validation of our daily work. Nothing should come as a surprise to anyone. What you do so well everyday is what we hope to show people who will be visiting us on November 3. The Standards for the Northwest Accreditation Commission are:

1. Mission, Beliefs, and Expectations for Student Learning
2. Curriculum
3. Instruction
4. Assessment
5. Leadership and Organization
6. School Services (Support)
7. Facilities and Finance
8. Culture and Continual Improvement

We will be discussing these more and how they fit into our work more at our faculty meeting.

Grades - Now that IPR's are posted please take the time to review grades with your students. We will not be sending IPR's home with students. We will be sending a phone message home tonight that grades are available through the Home Access Center. Please be sure to pose grades with student ID numbers in your classrooms.

Learning Targets - Learning Targets continue to be a focus for our classrooms and students here. On a daily basis it is important that student know what they are learning rather than simply doing. Several staff members have asked for some examples of learning targets. As we did before, we will be coming around to snap some pictures or asking you to send us some examples of learning targets you may have in your classrooms. The goal is to post at least two sample learning targets each week here in the Ram Review. Hope that helps!
