Other News and Notes

Grading and IPR - Our first IPR is due up next week. As we have talked before, it is our expectation that grades be posted every two weeks. With the start of school there may be an exception to this. As we have moved students in and out of classes and new classes have stared late we anticipate grading has been slow to begin in some cases. Please know that the first IPR is schedule to be post the first full week of October. The exact date for the window of this first IPR is as follows: 

• Opens: October 5 - Any assignment you want included in this IPR must have a date of 10/5 or earlier.
• Closes: October 11 - All grades must be completed by 10/11 so that grades are available to parents the next day.

Please be sure that you have accurate grades in the TAC system and available by this time. Also, be sure that you post our grades in your room for students to view grades prior to or at least at the same time they are available to parents. 

Faculty Meeting - Our regularly scheduled faculty for October is scheduled for next week on Wednesday, October 6. We will plan on meeting in the Library at 7:30 am. Kim published the list as to which department is scheduled to host the monthly meeting. Please review the list.

LINK Begins in October -  Our first LINK is Scheduled to begin October 6. We will spend some time in our faculty meeting discussing lessons and our new LINK model. Clearly we have worked hard to listen and adapt our LINK program to your needs as well as the needs of our students and Rogers as a school. LINK is scheduled for Wednesdays only and will be once a week for 30 minutes. We have created lessons that truly meet the needs of our students and continue to help develop the culture of our school. We will no longer however be able to put assemblies and other class interruptions in the LINK schedule as almost all days are needed for required LINK activities. I know we will continue to discuss issues around LINK. Thanks in advance for all you help on this.


E. Wesley Luncheon - We have almost 30 students who received the E. Wesley Scholarship this fall. We will be hosting a luncheon this week in the Library for them. The luncheon will be Thursday, 9/30 at 12 noon. A list will be coming out from the office Tuesday.
