Other News and Notes

Sr. Presentation Faculty Meetings - There will be two opportunities to get the information related to the Sr. Presentations. Phil will be presenting on Tuesday 4/14 right after school in the Library. The second presentation is scheduled for the next morning 6:50 am Wednesday 4/15 in the Main Office Conf. Room. You need to make it to one of these two trainings. The purpose of these trainings is to provide faculty with information on our expecations for our upcoming Sr. Presentions for Culminating Projects. Phil does a great job. This meeting is your regularly scheduled faculty meeting for this month.

Culminating Project Dates - Here are the upcoming dates for the next week or so for Culminating Project:
  • Portfolios Returned to Seniors - 4/14
  • Sr. Presentation Faculty Trainings - Tuesday 4/14 and Wednesday 4/15
  • Sr. Select Presentation Format in LINK - Thursday 4/16
  • Practice Presentations - Monday 4/27 - Wednesday 4/29 (Times vary by evaluator)

Ten/Ten Concept and Rule Clarification - Here are our expectations for the 10/10 rule. As we get closer to the end of the year and head into next year we need to do a better job of focusing on the start and close of each class period. The 10/10 rule is designed to help with that and help us follow up on the tardy policy. Expecations:
  • Students are to arrive to class on time - If not, send them to attendance for a pass or detention
  • Have a strong entry activity or begin your regular lesson on time.
  • Students are expected to stay in class for the first 10 minutes of class doing work.
  • Students may be given hall passes during the class period for appropriate reasons.
  • All students should be in class the last 10 minutes of class.
Please use written hall passes with times. It really helps us when we come across students in the hall know how long they have been out and where they should be going. Thanks again for all your help on this.

Teaching Assignments for Next Fall - The admin team will be givning teaching sections to department chairs this week. I would not put a lot of stock in the sections as thing are likely to change. As before, it is expected the departments will submit back their "ideal" teaching assignment schecule. We will however then move things around as needed. Hopefully we get somemore staffing. If not, we will need to get creative in our approach to classrooms and how we instruct on a daily basis.
