Other News and Notes

Culminating Project Update - At this point we should be finishing up portfolios with students. Please work with the LINK advisors if you are struggling contacting students. Also make sure you get the status sheets back to Nancy and Christie so they can provide us with accurate information. Here is a quick date list:

• 4/16 - Presentation style (Interview/presentation) selection is made in LINK - Sheets to Christie
• 4/24 - All Portfolio should be completed and returned to Students. All updates are needed in the Career Center by this date
• 4/27-29 Practice Speeches with Evaluators. Time is coordinate between evaluator and student
• 5/8 - All practice speeches are complete and update lists need to be sent to Career Center

Please continue to work with a student if they are close and are making progress. If for some reason they have stop working or have never shown up let their LINK teacher know or an administrator so we can get involved as early as possible.

Tacoma Water Project - This Friday, 4/24, Tacoma Water will be doing work on the main line in front of the senior lot. Evidently it is a major event as it is the main water feed to the city of Tacoma. As a result, there will be no access to the school from the senior lot. They do not believe there will be any disruption to our water service. Tacoma water will be working through the night to get the project done and have things back in order for Monday. Please avoid that area Friday night and Saturday. Use the faculty or Heritage Lot.

Contacting students and Parents about Grades - As the end of the year quickly approaches please be mindful of student progress. Keep in touch with parents if students begin to fail. Please contact parents early. We just completed third quarter report cards the fourth quarter progress report will be due the week of May 11.
