Other News and Notes

WASL Week - This week is WASL week across the state. We will be assessing our students in Math on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday we will be assessing them in Science. As in the past, we will begin each day with a morning briefing in the Library. Please plan on meeting in the Library at 7:15 am each day.

We will be assessing over 700 students on Tuesday and Wednesday. The science assessment will be much lighter as we are only assessing Sophomores. Please follow the schedule we published carefully. Regular classes begin at 11:15 am each day on an alternating schedule.

Grading - All grades are due by 8:00 am on Friday, 4/18. - No exceptions. The window for posting grades has been open since last week. All grades must be posted in TAC. All students are required to have a third quarter grade. We will be distributing third quarter report cards on Monday, 4/21 during 6th period.

Master Schedule - We are just about ready to meet with departments and deliver the sections. A department chair meeting is scheduled for next week. We will be asking for departments sign up for meetings with the admin team to meet and discuss section allocations.

Admin Changes - As many of you have heard and read, Brian Curtis has accepted a position at Glacier View Jr. High School for the 2008/09 school year. Brian is excited about the possibilities a new building holds and starting new traditions. As he leaves we have the opportunity to welcome Scott Harrison as our new Assistant Principal. I am sure Scott will be getting something out to you soon. There will be lots of time to send Brian off correctly and to welcome Scott but for now we wanted to let you all know.
