Other News and Notes
Faculty Mtg - Our regularly scheduled faculty meeting will be Wednesday, 4/9. We will plan on meeting in the Library right after school. The focus of this meeting will be our work with student portfolios. We will be distributing portfolios to all faculty at the meeting and then norming the scoring of senior portfolios. Here is our schedule for portfolio work:
- 4/8 - Senior portfolios are due to LINK advisors. All portfolios should be moved to the library after collecting and recording them in LINK. Once in the Library we will be organizing them for distribution at the faculty meeting.
- 4/9 - All senior portfolios will be distributed to faculty at the after school faculty meeting. We will norm one portfolio and answer questions about assessing student portfolios during the meeting. Teachers will have the option to continue assessing portfolios at the meeting or take their portfolios to the classrooms to assess later.
- 4/16 - Portfolios are completed and picked up by students
Quarter Grading - We will be posting grades for all students in all classes for third quarter. We have been sending reminders out but please review the handout provided to teachers at the faculty meeting. If you have any questions please contact one of the administrators. Here is the timeline we have shared a number of times but wanted to get to you again.
- Posting window opens April 10
- All grades must be posted no later than 8:00 am on Friday April 18
- Quarter Reports will be distributed during 6th Period on Monday April 20
WASL Begins next Week - The second of round of the Washington State Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) begins next week. The schedule is a bit different than our previous one. The assessment begins on Tuesday and ends on Friday. We will be assessing many more students during this round then we did the first round and will be using almost all of our teachers as proctors or assisting with the test in some way. We did have a sudden change in the rules we will explain at the faculty meeting so it is critical that everyone be attentive to schedules and trainings as we prepare for this upcoming assessment. The schedule will look much like it did before. The assessment window is scheduled for 7:40 about 10:30. We will have a single lunch for all students and regular classes will begin at 11:15 am Tuesday - Friday. We will be getting a much more detailed schedule to you later this week.
