Other News and Notes

Department Chair Meeting - Our monthly meeting schedule has been disrupted a bit due to our upcoming Student Led Conferences. Our regularly scheduled Department Chair Meeting is today, Tuesday, 2/19. The meeting will be at 2:30 pm in P-309. If you are a department chair and can not attend please make arrangements to have someone attend in your place.

Intent to Transfer Forms - The window of opportunity to transfer between buildings in the Puyallup School District has been established for this year. If you are interested in a new position outside Rogers High School next year you must submit a request form online. All forms must be submitted online between March 3 and March 31. There are several rules and regulations that go with the intent to transfer. Please review the email that came out from the district office.

Student Led Conferences - Our student led conferences are coming up. Conferences are scheduled for the end of the month. Students will be dismissed early on Wednesday and Thursday, 2/27 &28. Dismissal will be at 10:45 am with lunches served for students immediately following dismissal. Dinner will be served for faculty on Wednesday night and lunch will be served on Thursday afternoon. Please join us in the faculty room for both events.

Remember, all LINK advisors were given lists of those students in their LINK who are required to have Student Learning Plans. Brian was in the Library Computer Lab last week assisting teachers with this process. If you are still needing to get SLP's printed out please do so prior to our conferences next week. If you have any questions or need help printing the learning plans for your students please contact one of the administrators.

Congratulations to State Competitors - We had a group of state competitors last weekend compete at the WIAA State Bowling Championships. They did a great job and made it t the final day narrowly beating out ERHS and PHS.

Two of our Gymnasts were in the Tacoma Dome this past weekend. Both competed well. Chelsea Whitton took second in state on one of her events and both her and Ari made the WIAA State Senior Team. The RHS Girls Gymnastics team was also awarded both the State 4A Academic State Championship and the Winter Sportsmanship Award from the SPSL.

The RHS Wrestling team sent 14 athletes to the Mat Classic this past weekend. Kyle Foster wrestled in the championship round Saturday night but came up a bit short. Second in state is a great job however. Way to go Kyle! Several other wrestlers took various places from 3rd to 7th in state.

We also had two of our swimmers and divers at the King County Aquatic Center Competing in the WIAA State 4A State Swimming and Diving Championshipns. At this time we did not have the results fo that meet so stay tuned.......
