Other News and Events this Week
Progress Reports - We are scheduled to complete progress reports this week on Tuesday, 5/16. Progress reports were placed in your box last week. Please complete a progress report for each student. As before, we have moved LINK to the end of the day to facilitate picking up the progress reports.
LINK advisors need to complete their portion of the progress report and remove the pink copy of the progress report and return it to the Guidance Center. The top two copies (White and Yellow) need to be taken home to be signed. Students should return the white copy signed by their parent or guardian. The signed copy of the student progress report should be placed in each student's LINK folder.
Sr. Practice Speech Make Ups - The admin team will be working with seniors this Thursday, 5/18 to complete any practice speeches that were not completed or need to be made up. We will be working out of the main office conference room. Pam is compiling a list of students we need to work with. If you have not complete a practice speech by Wednesday of this week, please remind seniors their last opportunity is Thursday evening. We will be here from 5:00 - 8:00 pm but they need to have worked through their advisor and Pam prior to meeting with us.
Culminating Project Days - Our two culminating project dates are next week on Wednesday and Thursday, 5/24,25. School will be dismissed at 10:45 for student lunch. Staff and visiting culminating project evaluators will be having lunch in the commons at 11:15 am. Presentations begin at 1:00 pm. More information next week...
Band and Orchestra Trips - The bands and orchestra will be taking spring tours beginning this week. The orchestra is heading to Victoria, while the band is heading south to California. Both Mark and Bruce will be putting lists out but expect these students out for the end of this week.
DECA takes over Safeway - Our DECA kids along with their teacher Paul Stoltenberg have worked out a real on the job training program. The RHS DECA Program will be "taking" over the Safeway on the South HIll. Students will be working side by side with employees from Safeway. It should be a great day for Safeway and the RAMS. If you get a chance, stop by and do a little shopping. Students will be there alll day and early afternoon.
Staff Retreat in Fall - As in the past, we are putting together a staff retreat. We want to get the date out to you early and hopefully get as many people there as possible. We have pushed it to as late in the summer as physically possible. Right now everything is a bit tentative but the dates are August 27 and 28. The 28th is our Supplemental Day which is a Monday. The 27th is a Sunday but we felt it could work based on how late we were going and we could get some of our coaches who could come down for the day and evening. Lots of details to work out. We will be getting information to you prior to leaving for the summer but please mark the dates on your calendar. Right now we are planning on heading to the Ocean Shores area. Stay tuned....
