Upcoming Events

There are a couple of major events coming up that we mentioned today at the faculty meeting so I thought I would get this out to you this evening. Please reveiw the items below and let me know if there are questions or thoughts.

Parent Conferences - Our Parent Conference program is scheduled for Tuesday, 11/15 at 6:00 pm in the Commons.The evening will conclude by 8:00 pm. The format will be fairly similar to last year. We will be setting up in the commons alphabetically. Parents will be asked to begin their evening by meeting with their son or daughter's LINK advisor. We will have schedules for each student in your advisory. Once parents have met with the advisor they are free to meet with any or all of their child's academic program teachers. The administrators will be available throughout the night as well as our counselors.

Here are the expectations for the evening:

LINK Advisors:

1. Hand out student class schedules to all parents in your advisory.
2. Share with parents the current progress students are making toward completion of their culminating project. This should be grade level specifc
3. Explain the emphasis of our LINK Program by grade level (Sophomores - Learning, Juniors - Leading, Seniors - Living)

Academic Classes:

1. Share with parents quarter grades. (Report cards will not be printed and distributed until just prior to Thanksgiving break)
2. Share with parents any areas where the student is doing well (Catch kids doing things right!)
3. Share with parents any concerns about attendance, behavior, or classwork.
4. Share with parents the best way to stay connected to your work and the work going on in class on a daily basis. (Emails, phone calls, progress reports, etc)
5. Close by asking parents for input about their child that would help us do a better job.
