Grade Level Expectation (GLE) Activity - If you remember, at our last Learning Improvement Day session in October we asked all faculty to desing an activity around a reading, writing, and math grade level expection. The goals was to have teacher review our strand data and then provide an activity that will help students develop the skills necessary to be successful in that strand area. This needs to be an ongoing activity that reaches beyond a single academic discpline and becomes "the way we do things" in all our classes. Please bring your activities to the faculty meeting this week on Wednesday, 11/9. If you have already completed this activity and given it to an administrator we will have them for you at the meeting.

Veteran's Day Assembly - Our annual Veteran's Day Assembly will be held in the Gym this week on Thursday, 11/10. Ben will be getting an assembly schedule to you early this week. Students will report to their LINK class as usual. Teachers will be asked to review our assembly behavior expectations with their students prior to being released to the gym. Students will be released to the gym for the assembly by announcement. The assembly will last about 45 minutes. Students will need to report back to their LINK classes to pick up their backpacks and materials. They will then be released to their third period class by announcement. Teachers are reminded to accompany your students to the gym.

Veteran's Day Assembly Expectations - Remind students that this is not a pep assembly but rather an important time to remember all our veterans.

  1. Students should enter the gym quietly and respectfully.
  2. Remind them to be respectful of all speakers and to be attentive to them.
  3. There will be a number of musical presentations, again remind students to be repectful of all presentations by listening and being quiet during the musical portions of the assembly.
  4. Students are to remain for the entire assembly and not leave early. Dismissal from the assembly will be by announcement.

It is also expected that all teachers attend the assembly with their students. The leadership class has done a wonderful job of putting together a great assembly. Please do your part and support the work they have done.

Musical Production - The fall musical prodution begins this week. Our fall musical is Anything Goes. Both the drama and music department has worked hard to put together an outstanding production. Show will be this Friday and Saturady, 7:00 pm in the PAC. Next week we have three shows scheduled, Thursday (11/17), Friday (11/18), and Saturday (11/19). If you get a chance please take the opportunity to take in one of the shows.

Culminating Project Support Money - The PEA Collective Bargaining allows buildings to decide how best to spend the $20,000 allocated for support of the culminating project. We came to the faculty meeting last month asking for your thoughts and input. Before we make a final decision on this money we will be meeting to discuss the possibilities. The Culminating Project meeting will held this Thursday, 11/10 at 7:00 am. We will be meeting in the Main Office Conference Room. Please either email me your thoughts or plan on attending this meeting. A final proposal will go to the department chairs this month.
