• Accreditation Luncheon, All faculty invited, All lunches in the Library
• Girls Soccer Playoffs, 6:00 pm at Federal Way Stadium - If they win they play at 11:00 am on Saturday, 11/6 at Mt. Tahoma HS. - If they lose they play at 10:00 am on Saturday at Bethel Stadium

Thursday 11/4

• CPR/First Aid Class,4:30 pm in the Library (Registration is now closed)
• Boys Water Polo State Tournament Begins,  RHS opens with a match at 7:15 pm in the RHS Pool

Friday 11/5

• Girls VB Playoff Game, 1:45 pm at Kentwood HS- If they win they play at 5:15 pm, if we lose we play at 3:15 (Same day)
• FB v. Gig Harbor High School, 7:30 pm at Sparks Stadium

Other News and Notes

Accreditation News - Our site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, 11/3. The visiting team will join us in the library for a short meeting and then spend the morning walking around campus and visiting classrooms. The visiting team is looking for alignment between what is happening in classrooms and what we say we are doing on a daily basis. To that end, we would ask that you go about the business of teaching and working with our students just as you would every day. If someone comes into your room to visit they are not there to interrupt but rather observe and make connections to work we have shared with them. 

We address the Northwest Accreditation standards through the work we do every day. I have attached a link here so you can review the standards if you wish:

 Here is the agenda for Wednesday:

7:30 am - Library open to Faculty

8:00 am - Visiting Team Welcome and Opening Meeting - Faculty is welcome to this meeting but not required to be here.

8:45 am - Visiting Team Organizes for the day

9:15 -11:45 am -  Visiting Team visits classrooms, support areas, and administration.

11:45 am - Lunch in the Library with Visiting Team and Staff

12:30 pm - Visiting Team works on Recommendations and Commendations

1:00 pm - Visiting Team presents to RHS accreditation Team

We would love to have you come to the library before school to meet the visiting team. You are also welcome to stay for the meeting as we discuss the day but do not need to. Please plan on joining us in the library again during lunches. The Admin team will be making soups. Finally, the visiting team will review their notes and share both their recommendations and commendations with our accreditation team sometime after lunch.

We will be sharing out to the entire faculty all the information given to us by the visiting team at the next faculty meeting.

Volleyball Playoff Game Friday - Our volleyball team is scheduled to play their first playoff game in the West Central District Tournament on Friday, 11/5. The game is scheduled for 1:45 pm. We are assuming students may want to go to the game and then return for the football game later that same evening. As a result, we will put together a planned absence process for Friday. Students will need to attend through 4th period. Planned absences will be available in the attendance office beginning Wednesday.Win or lose the team will play again on Friday

Football Playoff Game Friday - Our Football team opens their post-season play on Friday, 11/5. They play at Sparks Stadium and will play Gig Harbor High School. There are NO PASSES for this game. SPSL passes will not work to get staff in to this stadium on Friday night. Game time is 7:30 pm

Girls Soccer Playoffs - Our girls soccer team is also bound for the playoffs. They open their post-season games with a match on Wednesday, 1/3.They play again on Saturday.

Water Polo - The boys water polo team opens their state tournament with a match on Thursday, 11/4. The state tournament is here at RHS. The match for our boys begins at 7:15 pm

Quarter Grades are just around the corner - Don't forget we need to be posting grades regularly. (At least every 2 weeks)  First quarter grades are due Friday, 11/12 before you leave for the weekend. The window opens on Tuesday, 11/9. All grades you wish included on this IPR must have a due date of 11/9 or earlier.

Phantom of the Opera - Our drama and music department is presenting, "Phantom of the Opera". Performances are scheduled for November 11,12,13,,18, 19 & 20. Tickets are on sale at the bookkeepers office.

Class Overload Verification Sheets - Hopefully you received an email asking you to complete an overload verification sheet. Please complete those and return them to Sandy Yahn. The district is taking your numbers off the e-school plus system but will verify the counts with these sheets.
