Other News and Notes

Staffing and Master Schedules - I think our staffing is set at this time. I have handed the sections off to the department chairs. Please check with your department chair as they are to be working out schedules with members of their department. At this point, I am hoping to get back "wish lists" of who is teaching what. The admin and counseling team will place the classes most appropriately on the master scheduled to help us balance seat counts and overall period offerings. Please know that planning periods will fall where we need them to based on balance. In the end, we may need to move some assignments around but if we do we will contact teachers. All teachers will know what classes they are teaching prior to leaving for the summer.

Portfolio Turn In - Portfolios for our Seniors are due Tuesday, 4/20, in all LINK classes. Teachers will collect and check off those students who are turning in portfolios. Please encourage students to turn in whatever they have in their portfolios rather then waiting to turning in only a completed portfolio. Once turned in, staff will need to take their box of portfolios to the library. Please remember to place your filled out turn in sheet in the box of portfolios.

Faculty Meeting - We will be meeting Wednesday, 4/21, at 7:30 am in the Library. The meeting this week is to norm the assessment of our portfolios. All the portfolios will be in the library for us to work with that morning. It will not take us the entire time to settle in on the standards so most faculty will have time to evaluate portfolios in the morning.

Portfolio Timeline - Here is the timeline we are looking to follow for the portfolio process:

• April 20 - Portfolios due to LINK Advisors
• April 21 - Portfolios are distributed to Evaluators at Faculty Meeting for evaluations and corrections as needed
• April 21-26 Evaluators evaluate and correct portfolios - Return to students as soon as possible - Contact LINK Advisors as needed
• April 26 - All portfolios due back to students for corrects as needed
• April 26 - 30 Students work with evaluators as needed for final corrections on portfolios
• April 30 - All portfolios are completed and returned to students
• April 30 - List of students to Pam Larsen of those who did not complete the portfolio process from LINK Advisor

Homework Help and Catch up Program - We have brought Jake Kennedy on to help get some of our seniors caught up during the months of April and May. We have found success in providing students with some focused time to complete their tests or assignments during the school hours through this interventions. Please help by sending down any requested tests or assignments for students working in the main office conference room with Jake. Thanks in advance for all your help and support
