Other News and Notes

No Faculty meetng this Week - Normally we would begin this month with a faculty meeting however, we need to give you back some time for preparing Student Learning Plans. As a result, please use this Wednesday, 12/2 to prepare your student learning plans. We have more time set aside but this is the only time for this month. As you move forward on your student learning plans please remember the following:

  1. We are only producing plans for those students who require a plan. That means they failed to met one of the state standards in Reading, Writing, or Math in their previous attempt.
  2. Choose at least 2-3 interventions for each area of focus
  3. For each plan there should be a school, student, and parent intervention
  4. Review the checklist at the starting page of each SLP to see that all parts are completed prior to printing
  5. Print two (2) copies of each completed plan as we need to retain a signed copy

December Newsletter - Since will not be having a general faculty meeting this month I will be putting together a staff newsletter that hopefully covers all the items we need to go over for this month. If you need to get information out to the faculty about any upcoming event, rather then using the general email, please send it to me and I will get it in the newsletter. I would like to give this newsletter a try and if it works we might be able to use this every now and then and use faculty meeting times for other items.

Next IPR is coming - We have about two weeks until the next IPR. All grades will be do before we leave for the day on Wednesday, 12/16. Please post current grades in your classroom and help focus students on what they can do improve their grades between now and the time they return from winter break if possible. We will be printing this next IPR for all students. Also, this is the last IPR prior to the semester transcripted grade. As a result it is our responsibility to make contact right after break with the parents of all failing students. More on this later.....
