Other News and Notes

Fair Day Schedule and Plans - Fair Day is scheduled for this week on Wednesday, 9,16. School will be dismissed at 10:45 am. We will be meeting in Periods 1,3, and 5. Each period we will be going over a number of different lessons including our safety procedures and student handbook. All the lessons are in your LINK Binder. We will not be having any regular classes that day. Fair tickets will be distributed at the end of the day on Wednesday. If you have any questions about the procedures that day, please contact one of the administrators.

Balancing Class Loads - We will be working throughout this week to balance class loads. The admin team will be coming around to some classes asking for students to move their schedules around to help balance classes. We will touch bases with teacher prior to coming to your classes.

Attendance issues - Please be sure to be taking accurate attendance. Do not take the word of students as to the whereabouts of students in your classes. If students are not there when you take roll please mark them absent. If they are tardy, we are not starting to assign them detentions. Unless students have an excuse from the attendance office or a school official please mark them tardy.

10-10 Rule - Please reinforce with your students our 10-10 process. Start class on time with an entry activity. No students should be out of class for any reason in the first or last ten minutes of class. Any students out during class at any other time require a written hall pass.

eSchool Plus and TAC - We have mentioned this at a number of different meetings. You are welcomed to use other grading programs for your use but all grades need to be posted and updated to TAC on a regular basis for student and parent use. Every four and a half weeks we produce an IPR or Quarter / Semester Grade. In between students and parents need to know the progress of their son or daughter. Asst. Superintendent Jay Riefel put out a memo discussing this same issue. We really do need to give the parents and students a single and consistent location for review student academic progress. We need to try and make this work. We will be meeting with departments this week and next to discuss your concerns and issues.
