Other News and Notes
Third Period Class Counts - We will be conducting class counts during 3rd period every day for the first 4 days of school. It is important that all students stay in class during the class counting process. There will be an announcement to hold all students in class during the 3rd period class count process. Here are a couple of reminders about our class count process:
- All staff with classes during 3rd period need to take attendance using the TAC computer system during the first 15 minutes of class.
- All staff need to follow up with a "hard copy" of their class count. Please do not simply use the computer to determine your class count but rather count the number of students who are actually in your class each day.
- If students are in your class one day and have not had a schedule change to be transferred out, but are simply absent the next day, please count them on all subsequent days.
- Administrators will be around to pick up your hard copies of class counts each of the first four days.
Online Trainings - Please remember to complete your online training. If you have not had a chance to go online and take a look at the trainings they really are pretty simple. Take a minute to log on and begin with one of the shorter trainings. They go very quickly once you begin. Remember all your trainings must be completed by the end of the month.
Welcome Back and Sophomore Assembly - Our annual welcome back and Sophomore Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, 9/3. The assembly will take place in the gym. Dismissal is by announcement. Students will be dismissed to their 3rd period classes so they can leave their books and materials in their 3rd period classroom. We will dismiss the Juniors and Seniors to the gym. Sophomores will be dismissed to the Commons. All staff need to report to the Foyer of the Gym. If you are new to Rogers, the staff will form a "Go Tunnel" and cheer the sophomores into the gym where the Juniors and Seniors will greet them with a standing ovation. Sophomores will sit on the floor of the Gym. It is a short but important assembly in developing the culture of our school.
