Other News and Notes

Grades Due - Due to the snow cancellations prior to Winter Break the district has adjusted the dates of the Progress Reports. Please have all grades completed by Tuesday, 1/6 at 8:00 am. We will print Progress Reports for all students to be handed out during 5th period on Wednesday, 1/7.

Any student not receiving at least a "C" at this time needs to have comments on how to improve their grade by the end of first semester. All grades must be posted to TAC. Use of Easy Grade Pro or any other grading program for all IRP's (Progress Reports) or Semester Grades will not work.

Contacting Parents of Failing Students - Please remember, why are asking teachers to contact the parents or guardians of all students currently failing their classes. Contact may be made through phone, email or first class mail (snail mail). A couple of suggestions include:

1. Contact all parents with current grade reports and let them know of all make up possibilities and any extra credit that may be available. One example was a teacher sent a letter home to all of their students informing them he was suspending his rule of no make up or late work. He was willing to accept late work up to a certain date. The letter was sent out to all parents.
2. Contact all parents through an email list with contact options for you. One such example is one staff member sends out an email to all parents informing them of all assignments and possible make up for class work.
   
3. Finally, calling the home of all failing students is an option. If you leave a message please document the date and time of the contact.

Winter Wishes - The Winter Wishes Assembly has been rescheduled for this Friday, 1/9. The bell schedule will remain the same as prior to the Winter Break. Students will report to 6th period and then be dismissed by announcement to the gym. While it will not be quite the same, we believe it will still be worth the effort for our students and staff.

Winter Choral Concert Rescheduled - The Winter Choral Concert has been rescheduled for Monday, 1/12. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm in the PAC.
