Other News and Notes
Homecoming Week - This is Homecoming Week. The leadership class has planned dress up days throughout the week. Our Homecoming assembly is scheduled for Thursday, 10/23. The assembly will be after 2nd period. We will have all students report to the 3rd period classes to drop off their packs and books. Dismissal will be by announcement. As with all our Homecoming assemblies, this will be a longer assembly. The bell schedule will be sent via email Monday or Tuesday of this week.
Homework - Hopefully most of you heard or discussed the process of homework in your deparment meetings this past week. We need to be clear with students on our homework expectations. In almost all cases homework plays two roles. The first is to reinforce and support the work being done in the classroom on a regular basis. The second is for student to complete work they began in the class during the day but were not able to complete the work during the regular class period. In either case here is the expectations when assigning homework:
- Homework must be relevant to what is happening in class
- Homework will be assessed and returned to students in a reasonable time period
- Homework will count towards the student overall grade
Grading - Don' t forget to update your grades on a "regular" basis. We have either progress reports or quarter reporting every 4-weeks. It is expected that grades are input into whatever system you are using between these reporting periods.
Daffodil Coronation - The Rogers High School Daffodil Coronation is scheduled for this Monday, 10/20. The girls have done just an outstanding job of preparing for this evening. A lot of hard work has gone into the preparation for this evening. A huge thanks to Kelly Schakel for taking over this role and helping the girls through their preparation.
