Other News and Notes

Challenge Day - We are hosting our second annual Challenge Day program here on Thursday, 10/31. We will be excusing about 100 of our students to the gym that day to participate in the program. From their website, "Challenge Day's vision is that every child lives in a world where they feel safe, loved and celebrated." The concept is to develop a group of students from all of the representative groups here at Rogers who will choose to become the change they would like to see in our school to make it the best school around. Students involved in the program last year walked away committed to making a difference here at Rogers and in our community. It really is a great program. Karey will be getting a list of excused students to you later Monday or early Tuesday. Here is their website if you want to take a look at their program.

IRP #2 - We realize there is a problem with IRP # 2. Here is the issue. The window for posting grades to the IRP #2 (end of first quarter) closes Wednesday, 11/5. Yes, that is the day prior to the end of the first quarter. I spoke with both ITC and folks at ESC last week to express concern over this. They were looking into it and would get back to me. I am making an assumption that the IRP #2 closure will move to sometime after the end of the first quarter final day. I asked it be moved to Monday, 11/10. This would give staff two days and a weekend following the end of first quarter to complete grades and post.

Late Breaking News - IRP# is open until Monday 11/10 at 8:00 am!

Soup Lunch - In some ways the first two months have taken forever. In other ways, I can not believe we are already through with the first quarter. As a result of cold, shorter days and where we have been this first quarter the admin team is hosting lunch for the staff on Friday, 10/31. No agenda items just fresh hot soup. Here is the menu as of today (until somebody forgets to cook)
