News and Notes
Senior Class Meeting - There will be a Senior class meeting this week during LINK on Thursday, 11/1. Seniors are to report directly to the gym. Josten's will be here giving out graduation information. Following the meeting in the gym, Seniors will then move to the field behind the PAC for the "08" class picture. Both of these events will cause us to extend LINK for the Seniors only. The other two grade levels will be released at the regular time for third period. Senior LINK advisors are asked to report to the gym with their students.
Planned Absences for Friday - Our Volleyball team has advanced to the next round of West Central District play. They open their first round of play this Friday, 11/2 at 12 noon. The game is at Kentwood High School. Students will be allowed to complete a planned absence and leave for the game after third period on Friday. I am certain some students will leave earlier but that will require parent permission. Planned absence forms are available in the attendance office at this time. The West Central District Volleyball Tournament continues this Saturday at Kentwood.
Visitors and Other Adults on Campus - We have had a number of issues recently where adults have come to campus and made their way to classrooms appropriately and sometimes inappropriately. Our campus is unique in that people can approach it from just about every direction and with 0ver 60 exterior doors this becomes a very difficult facility to secure. We will be sending information out in our next newsletter asking parents to be sure to check in at the main office whenever they come to campus. We have actually sent letters of no trespass to parents already based on some inappropriate behavior. Here are a couple of things we are asking of you to begin with. There will be more of a discussion next week at the faculty meeting.
- Please do not have parents report directly to your classroom or teaching area to meet with you. Have them check in at the main office prior to meeting with you. We will then get them to you.
- We are asking staff to please wear their district issued id badges. The new card readers will be installed soon and your badge will be needed to enter the building. We also want to get into the habit of having our id badges with us at all times.
- If you see an adult on our campus without a PSD id badge or Visitor pass from the main office, please stop them and escort them back to the main office. Be polite and respectful reminding them of our need to maintain a safe and secure campus.
