Other News and Notes

Student Led Conferences - Our Conference day is scheduled for this Wednesday, 4/25. Several staff began conferencing last week. On Wednesday of this week, conferences will begin after school. If you have not already done so, please let Barb know if you have any specific needs in the way of furniture or classroom setup. A couple of reminders as we proceed with conferences:

1. Remember this is a conference for students and parents so please relax and be positive about the Conference
2. Allow students to do the work. It is their responsibility. Prompt them as needed.
3. We are understand there are issues surrounding the implementation of Student Led Conferences. We will address these issues as we evaluate the Conferences) Please try and put these issues aside and make the Student Led Conferences work for the parents and the students.

OUr expectation is to complete this round of student led conferences and then discuss next steps. In completing the student led conferences please remember to keep track of all time spent on conferening so we can understand the time commitment. Also know our expectations are:

1. Use the time we have set aside to accomplish the conferences
2. Meeting with parents before and after school is appropriate if needed
3. Please make at least one good faith effort to reschedule a missed conference
4. We can "comp" out extra hours as neccesary. Please work this out with the administrators

It is not expected that you return in the evening or on weekends to accomplish this work. Again, thank you in advance for all you are doing to make this work.
