Other News and Notes
State Tournament News and planned absences - We have three groups heading to state competitions this weekend. The state tournaments begin on Friday of this week. Wrestling and gymnastis will be at the Tacoma Dome while the State Swimming and Diving will be in Federal Way at the King County Aquatic Center.
Students can pick up planned absences in the attendance office anytime after today. Based on what event they are attending studnets will be leaving throughout the day on Friday. Our Attendance Office will be putting together a list of those students on planned absences. We will be sending that list out to teachers late in the day on Friday. Please use this list as your excused absence list for those students who completed the planned absences process. Students on a planned absence will not be returning to class with a blue slip.
Shortage of subs this week - We are anticipating a shortage of substitute teachers this Friday, 2/16. With all of the state tournaments, illness issues, and professional developments, we anticipate not having enough subs to cover classes on Friday. We will be asking teacher to help cover classes as needed. Please be flexible and supportive. In some extreme cases we may need to combine classes. Stay tuned.....
Teacher Workstation Re-imaging - All teacher laptop computers will be re-imaged at the end of this month. We will be getting information out to all of you with exact details. On February 27 we will be asking teacher to turn their laptops into the library for re-imaging. The process will be an overnight procedure. Please plan on making the appropriate arrangements. In the next couple of weeks we will be working with staff to back up all data on your hard drive. In the end, this re-imaging process will allow your computer to function better, provide you with upgraded software, and new district applications. More to come....
