Out of School Field Trips - There are several up coming field trips that will cause students to be out of school over the next couple of weeks or so. I know there are Social Studies students heading to Olympia this Friday, 2/24. The Choir is out on Tuesday, 3/7, as they are heading to a trip over at PLU. I believe there are a few others. If you are planning to take students out of school. Please be sure to complete the appropriate paperwork in the main office. It helps us know when and where groups are as well as takes care of all our liability issues related to off campus travel.

Finally, if you are taking groups of students off campus for any reason and other classes will be missed as a result it is important that all teachers be notified. If you could send me a note or email I will include your trip in our Ram Review. You will still need to work with attendance and get lists to teachers. But getting notification out in advance is critical. Thanks

Attendance Issues - The Managment team has been wrestling with this whole issue of attendance. We are trying to clean up our procedures so that students can go a week or more from single periods without some kind of notificiation from teacher, attendance office, and administration. While we collect the necessary informatinon and begin to formualte some solutions we need your help. We would like to ask that all teacher make a concentrated effort in the following areas:

  • Require notes for all late or tardy students
  • Required notes for all students who have missed classes the previous day.
  • Please keep accurate attendance and send your attendance sheets to the Attendance Office as required
  • Please greet students as they enter your classroom and encourage stduents to get to class on time.
  • Begin class wth an activity or warm up exercise.

The admin team will be working out a long term solution and presenting it to the faculty in the next few weeks. Please do your part by working with students.

Curriculum Fair - The Curriculum Fair is scheduled for next week on Thursday, 2/2. As we have in the past, we will have a something to eat for the faculty at about 5:30 in the faculty room. We will be setting up in the commons. We will be getting the map out to you by Monday. Please let Collette know if you are planning on being at the Fair but we do not have a space included for you. Also, if we have you on the map, we are expecting someone from your department to be representing you. If we have made a mistake please let us know.

Assembly - We will be having an assembly next Tuesday, 2/28. The assembly is our annual mid-year motivational assembly. It is a multimedia presentation we will be hosting in the PAC. The assembly will be during lunchtime. We will rotate between lunch, class, and the assembly. It is expected that staff members will escort their classes to the assembly in the PAC.

Progress Reports - We will be completing progress reports on Tuesday, 3/7. In the past, we have moved LINK to the end of the day. We need to have our LINK students in class meetings for Jrs.and Srs. while So. go to their WASL testing sites that day so we will have LINK as normal and collect our Progress Reports in 6th period as we have in the past. We will get more details to you as we get closer.
