Other News and Notes

Senior Withdrawl Procedures - Seniors will be withdrawing from school in Thursday, 6/10.We went over the procedures at our faculty meeting last week. We also gave everyone a handout that outlined the procedures. Just to be clear, here is the third and final reminder of our withdrawl procedures:
  1. Hand out withdrawl cards to all seniors during First period on Thursday
  2. Do NOT sign the card if the student in your class has an outstanding fine
  3. Highlight the name of any senior who is failing your class
  4. Return the cards to students at the end of each hour
  5. At 2:00 pm all students will be released to the Commons by announcement for final checkout
Sophomore and Junior Withdraw Procedures - Sophomores and Juniors will withdrawl on Tuesday, 6/15. Their procedure is a bit different then the seniors. Withdrawl cards will be in your box on Monday, 6/14. Here are the procedures we are asking you to follow from there:
  1. Hand out withdrawl cards to all students in your first period class on Tuesday, 6/15
  2. Do not sign the card if the student has an outstanding fine in your class
  3. Highlight any student failing your class
  4. Return the cards to the students at the end of each hour except 6th. (If a students leaves early or does not have a 6th period please keep their card)
  5. Return all completed cards to the Guidance Center at the end of the day
Graduation Practice and Graduation - Graduation practice is scheduled for this Friday, 6/11. If you are interested in being a row monitor for graduation please contact Kim in the main office. Practice is scheduled for 10:30 am at the Fair grounds. With all the seniors leaving for practice we will be doing some rearranging of classes so please help us out where needed and asked.

Graduation is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Saturday, 6/12. We need everyone who will be assisting at graduation to meet at the fairgrounds no later than 11:30 am. Please touch bases with Kim for a parking pass. We were limited this year on passes so we may need to carpool. Also, we need some help with the red and gold gates at graduation. If you are willing to help supervise a gate let Kim know.

Fine Cards and Text Books - Hopefully everyone who issued textbooks this year used the blue fine card when they handed out textbooks to students at the start of this school year or semester. Here is the process for returning student textbooks:
  1. Use the blue Fine/Textbook Card as students return their textbooks at the end of the semester
  2. Verify the textbook number matches the number issued at the start of the year
  3. If a student does not return a textbook, send the blue textbook/fine card to Deb in the Bookkeepers Office
  4. Once you send a fine card to Deb, please do not take that textbook from a student. Have them return the textbook to Deb directly
  5. If a book is damaged, assign damage charges on their blue card and send the card to Deb. Please keep the book
  6. Collect all Blue Textbook/Fine cards and return them to Deb at the end of the year
Faculty Lunch - Our end of the year lunch will be Wednesday, 6/16 at 11:45 am in the Commons. Details to follow....

Textbook Inventory - We need to inventory all textbooks this spring. Rick is preparing a memo that will be asking for a plan from each department that details how you want this process to work for your department. There are two parts to your plan. First is the process for collecting all materials this spring for summer inventory. Then there is the part of the plan for redistribution of all materials and the checkout process for this coming fall. Department Chairs need to work with Rick on this process.
