Other News and Notes
Fair Day - Fair Day is scheduled for this Wednesday, 9/10. School will be dismissed at 10:45 am so that lunches can be served for students who need school lunches. We will be running a different schedule then we have in the past based on input from staff. Teachers will be meeting with their 1st, 3rd, and 5th period classes. Each period we will be asking you to cover a different topic. Teachers will be asked to have students sign off that they have covered our safety procedures and student handbook. Complete details and lessons plans will be in your boxes Monday or Tuesday along with a bell schedule. We will be meeting with our LINK classes at the end of the day on Wednesday. It is important that all staff cover the items assigned during the periods assigned. Student fair tickets will be distributed during LINK at the end of the day.Fair Day Bell Schedule -
- 1st Period 7:40 - 8:25
- 3rd Period 8:30 - 9:15
- 5th Period 9:20 - 10:05
- LINK 10:10-10:45
Third Period Counts - We will be conducting the last of our official class counts on Monday, 9/8 during 3rd period. This final class count is critical to any staffing we may get and ultimately any relief we may feel in class loads. Remember you can count any student who has been in your class at any time over the past four days. The only students we do not count are those students who we have never seen to this point. We will be doing another 5th period class count on Monday to help verify our student population. When we collect your third period class counts we will be handing out another class count sheet for 5th period.
Class Balancing - The management team will be meeting on Tuesday to deal with class loads. Joan Berry sent an email out concerning the issues of loads and discussions or promises teachers are having with students. We have been working hard just to get students in classes over the first few days of school. Balancing of classes will begin this week. Please be patient. If we get any additional staffing it will not come until late in the week. It also will not help the cause by asking several people to work on the same issue. If you have specific concerns about a class please stop by and see Scott B.
