Other News and Notes
Opening Faculty Mgt - Our opening faculty meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 9/2, at 7:30 am in the Library. We will be meeting for the morning and plan on being done by 11:30 am. The rest of the day is for teachers to work in their rooms or with departments as needed. The admin team will be hosting a BBQ in the back courtyard from 12 noon to 1:00 pm. Hotdogs and chips are on the menu.
Student Counts - We will be conducting student enrollment counts for the building each day at the beginning of third period. It is critical that we get accurate student counts. As we enroll new students there may be a lag between what TAC is reporting and what you are actually seeing in the classroom. The folks downtown will be using TAC to calculate class loads and overload stipends. Here is our procedure for each day:
- At the beginning of third period we will ask all teacher to hold student in class.
- Teachers need to count students in their third period class distinguishing by grade.
- Verify the student in your class are also on your TAC list.
- Continue to count any student you have seen at anytime the first four days of school and remains on your TAC list
Welcome Assembly - Our openning school welcoming assembly is scheduled for Thursday, 9/4 after second period. Students will report to third period and leave their backpacks and books in their third period classes. Students will be dismissed by announcements. We will be dismissing all Juniors and Seniors to the Gym first. All Sophomores will gather in the Cafeteria. All Faculty will gather in the Gym Foyer to form the "welcome tunnel" for sophomores.
A Free Lunch - The RHS Admin will be hosting a hotdog BBQ for the faculty Tuesday after the faculty meeting. After the faculty meeting we will fire up the BBQ's and serve lunch for the faculty. Take a break from working in your room and stop by to get a bite to eat.
