Other News and Notes
Input Needed - One use of blogs like this is to record an ongoing dialogue between users. All blogs have the ability to post and respond to comments from those who participate or read the material. Posting a comment will send an email to Scott with your comment or question. In some cases we would post both the comment and the response. In other cases, we might just respond with requested information without necessarily posting the comment. Posting a comment does not automatically post the comment to the blog. We would like to use this blog to get information back from the faculty to issues and questions. One such question is this:Simply post a comment back to this blog with your suggestions or questions
What kinds of strategies would you consider to increase commmunications with staff, students, and parents.
SWIFT Training - Our building has aquired a site license for SWIFT. As a result, everyone will have the opportunity to establish class websites and post student grade online. Our building trainers are Megan, James, and Bryna. Several others teachers have also participated in the district's previous SWIFT training. We will be putting together professional development opportunities for all interested staff soon. It does not make sense to train the entire faculty at one time because the speed of our wireless connection is too slow. Here are some thoughts about possible training opportunities:
- Planning period - We would set up one or two days when our building trainers will be available throughout the day. We would ask interested staff to come to small group trainings during their planning period.
- Lunch Time - We have in the past provided lunch to staff in order to also use that time for training.
- Before or After School - We could put together several training times before and after school.

Can the parents and students read the blog--or could there be another one for them? Margaret
